An Alternative to Traditional Insurance: Introducing Zion HealthShare
At Pohala Clinic, we believe in putting people first and empowering you to focus on your health without the burden of high costs. That's why we want to introduce you to an alternative to traditional health insurance that aligns with our values: Zion HealthShare.
We know that for many, traditional health insurance can be complicated and expensive. Zion HealthShare is a non-profit medical cost-sharing program designed to be a transparent, affordable, and community-driven alternative.
How Zion HealthShare Works
Instead of paying insurance premiums, members of Zion HealthShare make a monthly contribution to a community fund. This fund is then used to share in the medical costs of other members who have eligible expenses. You choose an Initial Unshareable Amount (IUA) that you are responsible for paying toward a medical need before the community begins to share costs. The community then shares 100% of the remaining eligible expenses for that specific need.

- No Enrollment Period: You can join Zion HealthShare at any time, as there are no specific enrollment periods.
- No Lifetime Maximums: The program has no annual or lifetime limits on sharing.
