About Nicole Severts

Nicole Severts is a Family Nurse Practitioner with over ten years of experience practicing in both Minnesota and Oregon. She began her career working in critical access emergency departments and urgent care settings and later served as a hospitalist in intensive care units. Over time, her practice has expanded to include both urgent care and family medicine, where she enjoys managing a wide range of acute and chronic conditions.

Nicole grew up in a family of nurses, which inspired her passion for helping others from an early age. Becoming a nurse practitioner allowed her to build deeper relationships with patients and support them in improving their health and quality of life.

When meeting a patient for the first time, Nicole’s priority is understanding their needs and concerns. She believes that truly listening to patients is essential to providing effective care. Having experienced her own health challenges, she understands how frustrating it can feel when patients do not feel heard. Her goal is to ensure every patient feels respected, understood, and involved in creating a treatment plan that works for them.

Nicole believes that Western and Eastern medicine can complement each other in meaningful ways. While medications can play an important role in treatment, she also encourages patients to consider lifestyle changes and holistic approaches such as nutrition, exercise, meditation, acupuncture, massage, and yoga to support overall wellness. She believes in helping patients find balanced approaches to improve long-term health.

At Pohala Clinic, Nicole is interested in developing programs that support innovative and integrative care, including the use of Botox for chronic migraines, hyperhidrosis, and TMJ, as well as IV therapy for wellness. She enjoys working with patients of all ages and genders and values partnering with individuals who are engaged in improving their health.

Her philosophy as a provider is simple:

 “Treat others the way you would want yourself and your loved ones to be treated.”

Nicole sees patients Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and Friday from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
