Pohala Clinic Welcomes Dr. Alex to the Team!

Pohala Clinic is delighted to introduce Dr. Alex M Cullen, a new provider dedicated to offering compassionate, evidence-based naturopathic primary care. Dr. Cullen joins our team ready to serve patients using a comprehensive, research-informed approach.

Dr. Alex M Cullen’s journey into medicine started as a young man in the state ofVermont, feeling impassioned to improve the field of medicine to address the opioid epidemic. Dr. Cullen would go on to pursue an education in wellness and alternative medicine at Northern Vermont University in Johnson VT. Dr. Cullen then worked for 2 years with children, adolescents, and young adults as both a residential support specialist at Laraway Youth and Family Services in Johnson VT, as well as an Outdoor Behavioral Healthcare specialist at Deschutes Wilderness in Bend OR. Dr. Cullen would then go on to pursue a graduate level education; attaining a Doctoral degree in Naturopathic Medicine as well as a Master’s degree in Clinical Research. Dr. Cullen remains affiliated with Helfgott Research Institute partnered with the National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM), where he continues to conduct his research.

As both a clinician and researcher, Dr. Cullen will provide an evidence-based approach to your care. Dr. Cullen utilizes a wide scope of practice to serve his patients through naturopathic primary care. As a clinical investigator, Dr. Cullen advocates for the field of natural medicine through his rigorous research on quantum biology (the quantum physics of biology) as it pertains to natural medicine; uniquely informing his philosophy for your care. In his free time, Dr. Cullen engages in many activities; including but not limited to strength / hypertrophy training, mixed martial arts, hiking, cross country skiing, singing, poetry, tabletop / board / video gaming, and cooking. Dr. Cullen is also a full time loving and engaged father, working hard to be strong and support his family.
